A king, in my own mind.
Why did this happen every. Single. Time. Why couldn’t he have one nice, peaceful day in the forest? He liked jumping from tree to tree, branch to branch. Felt so alive. So free. Then, out of know where another Chipmunk bombards him! They always bat their eyelashes, give cute little squeaks and some even get clingy. It was so annoying. Much like some of the young ladies he had met. So what was he to do with the issue? Run. Run to the river. And if that failed, give up and sit by the river in his human form.
Sen ended up by the river. The female chipmunk had not given up the chase until he plopped onto land and shifted his body. The sudden change from a small red chipmunk into a skinny young man caused the lady chipmunk to run off. Sen wasn’t even sure where she had gone. Without being bothered with a creature wanting to mate, he had found himself a handful of rocks. Though the stream was moving rather quickly, Sen was able to skip a few of the rocks across the rushing water. It was almost like a game. How many rocks could he get to reach the other side? It was a boring game. Almost made him wish he had stayed at home to sleep or something.
After a while, Sen let out a long sigh and found his bottom hitting the ground. He had grown tired of standing yet he still managed to skip a few more rocks across the water. Luckily for him it was a warm day. The sun was out and there was a soft cool breeze to make it perfect. Though the wind held a small nip which told Sen that the night would be chilly. He’d have to make sure he made it home before it got too dark. Or… maybe the female chipmunk wouldn’t be an issue after dark… “Desirable even to the animal life. I must be quite a catch.” He cooed to himself. He certainly didn’t believe that but he was enjoying filling his ego.

Water flowed over her skin, soft as silk as she swam in the river. For the first time in weeks, Karma was genuinely smiling as she dove to the bottom of the river, seeking out the smooth rocks only a water elemental or a fish could obtain. The river was flowing quite quickly, and occasionally, she fell voluntary prey to it, allowing it to carry her body further down the river. However, fighting it was no strain. She found herself bending it away from herself just enough to where, wherever she stood or swam, the current was almost still, safe enough for a toddler to wade in and flap her arms.
The need to breathe was not a physical urge Karma had when under the water. She could stay under for as long as she wanted. To be honest, it was something she never quite understood. It was as though she were a fish. But no matter. Despite the fact that the physical urge was not there, she split the surface with her head, auburn erupting through the clear blue as though the river were birthing her. The idea made her giggle, water birthing her. But then, were she not the daughter of water? Perhaps not this body, specifically, but water in general. Yes, she now was going to consider water her mother. Her own was dead to her, despite the fact that she still lived healthy and rich in France.
Karma waded over to the edge of the river, crossing her arms and resting her chin on her crossed wrists. She looked across the bank at her clothes, a rumbled mess of fabric laying upon the ground. Her sisters would kill her if they knew she was swimming naked in the river. Well, not naked, she had her underwear on, at the least. Karma had no shame for her body and felt no need to hide it. However, despite the fact that she had no shame, she had at least picked a part of the river that was quite unfrequented save her and the wild life.
Sighing, she allowed her foot to twist around a bit of weed growing from the river bottom. As she did so, her need to collect the river rocks was renewed and down she dove. As she made her way to the bottom, two fish looked at her. Quickly, their shock at her presence left them as they fled the scene. Laughter filled her lungs and escaped in the form of bubbles. She quickly became hysterical for no reason at all. Perhaps it was the simple fact that she hadn't truly laughed or relax in weeks. She had been working as much as possible at the bar, a place she hated.
Again, she made her way to the surface, her laughter dying down to a low giggle and finally silence as she allowed herself to float on her back down the river. She closed her eyes, allowing the sun to warm her face and exposed flesh. One hand was behind her head while the other was just above the water, creating bubbles that she was rotating above her head, three at a time in a circular motion. She began to hum to herself as complete serenity fell over her. However, it was quickly shattered as a pebble landed with a hard thump on her stomach. "Fuck." She said it before she could even realize what had happened and that it meant someone else was here, with her half naked.
Alarmed, she immediately stood in the middle of the river and looked to see who had thrown it. She spied a man, probably around her age, sitting on the bank tossing pebbles. She sunk lower in the water, her hair floating out in a circular array around her head. Perhaps he hadn't seen her.

A king, in my own mind.
"One bright day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight. Back to-" Sen was trying his hand at a creepy nursery rhyme he had heard before. He liked it for the simple fact that it was odd. Problem was, he always ended up getting mixed up with its words. This time he hadn't had a chance to get mixed up for his words were cut off shortly after he tossed another pebble into the water. The rather harsh word, 'Fuck' had reached his ears and knew right away it was not another Chipmunk. Someone was in the water. How they hadn't been swept away by the current, Sen wasn't sure, but he was beginning to not to question such things. After all, this town was filled with talented people.
"You know," He spoke, but his soft, speckled blue eyes didn't look her way, "It doesn't matter how low you sink, if you don't go underwater you stand out like a sore thumb." With that, Sen's eyes set themselves onto the half naked woman. Of course, if he had realized she was naked he probably wouldn't have been so calm. Luckily for her, he didn't have super human eyes. "Why in the world are you swimming in that puddle anyway? Aren't you afraid of getting sick?"
It was warm out, but Sen was certain the water was cold. He hated the cold. Besides, he wasn't the best of swimmers. Dry was safer as well. Didn't have the chance of drowning. Maybe the woman was crazy. That would certainly explain a lot. All he could see was the top of her head and very pretty eyes but still... just from that he could tell she was gorgeous. The good looking ones were always crazy. Sometimes it was hard to tell right away. manly because men were always put under a trance from their beauty but eventually it would show.

With the cool water resting just below her lower eyelids, Karma acted as much like the river as she could. She felt the ebb and flow and allowed her limbs to move as one with the water around her. However, it was all to no avail. He had spotted her and even spoke back to her profanity. Her smile was long gone as she listened to his words. She was a bit annoyed at his the snarky overtone. It was almost as though he thought he knew better than the rest of the world. Karma hated many things, and people who believed themselves to better than the rest of the world, those who came across holier than thou, was towards the top of her list.
She raised herself slightly out of the water so that now her entire face and most of her neck was visible. She was careful not to expose anymore of herself than was necessary. Again, it wasn't that she was shy about her body, but she saw no reason for this man to see her naked chest. He was neither her lover nor her friend, therefore, he was not going to be lucky enough to see her.
Her smile, as was aforementioned, has long skipped off to see the wizard, for it knew the face upon which it sat was no longer a pleasant place to be. At least, not for the time being. It had been replaced with a slight scowl for Karma was highly annoyed. However, she planned to hear him out, perhaps listen to a few more of his sentences before judging him completely. "No. I'm not afraid of getting sick. The current is moving pretty quickly, it's washing all the crap away. What are you doing here?" She refused to waste time. She wanted to know why he was here, in her spot. Of course, it was not actually hers, not exactly, but never had she come across another person in this exact place before. To be honest, she was a bit astounded that someone else would waste their day at the river.
